Doing a cold read is like being a microwave. You have to heat up a frozen hot pocket of a scene in a minute or two max. Doing a show is like being an oven, you have a little while to pre-heat and then cook some complicated dish to perfection.

If being a microwave also let people know whether or not to buy your oven.
